A Note from the School Counselor- Dear Demorest Elementary Parents, Students, and Community: My name is Alaina Conner and I will be your new school counselor for the 2009-2010 school year! I am so excited to be serving and helping our students, and to have the opportunity to meet and get to know each and every one of you. If you have any questions, concerns, or would just like to stop by and chat, please feel free to give me a call, e-mail, or come by the school to set up an appointment. I would love to have the opportunity to sit down and speak with you. I have been a professional school counselor for the past 5 years, serving in both an elementary school and a high school. I am a member of the American School Counseling Association, and I firmly believe in comprehensive, developmental counseling programs. My goal is to reach ALL students in our school and help to make a difference in our students' lives. A comprehensive counseling program can include services such as individual counseling, group counseling, developmental classroom guidance, coordination of programs and services (such as mentoring), and collaboration with parents, teachers, and community members. I am a resource for you. I am here to help your child if difficulties arise. There is no question that I do not welcome, and if I do not have the answer, we can find the answer together! I look forward to meeting you and helping your child succeed at Demorest!
