DES Students Love to READ!

World globes, flags from countries around the world, and "I Love to Read" in different languages were displayed in the DES media center recently to showcase the "Read Around the World" bookfair theme. Students enjoyed browsing and selecting new books from the many available. In addition to buying books, DES students raised over $89 for One for Books, a Scholastic program that donates 1 book for every dollar raised to different children's charities. As a result of DES students' generosity, Scholastic will donate 89 books to charity. Parent volunteers play an important role in the success of the bookfair, and Mrs. Byers, the media specialist, certainly appreciates all the volunteers who gave their time. DES hosts a bookfair two times in the school year to help raise funds for the media center.
